Turkish Paralympic female swimmer inspires a new Barbie doll

On the occasion of the celebration on March 8th of International Women’s Day, Barbie has released a new collection of dolls inspired by athletes and champions to inspire other women and girls. One of those dolls reproduces the figure of the Turkish Paralympic swimmer Sümeyye Boyacı, winner of two gold and one silver medals at the 2018 and 2019 Paralympic World and European swimming championships. “I may not have arms, but I have wings that nobody else can see,” says this young 17-year-old athlete born without upper limbs.
