7 dead, 22 injured after bus plunged into a ravine in Turkey

7 people were killed and another 22 injured, according to the latest balance of victims, when the bus in which they were traveling fell into a ravine in the province of Kars, in eastern Turkey, according to local authorities. The tragic accident occurred around 7:50 a.m. local time (6:50 a.m. CET) on the Kars-Erzurum highway near the town of Karakurt, when the bus lost control and fell down a 50-meter ravine. Initially the governor of Kars reported 5 fatalities, but two of the injured later died due to their injuries. It is not ruled out that the number of victims may increase due to the seriousness of some of the injured passengers.
