Six people were killed and 33 others injured in a new tragedy on Turkish roads when a bus full of passengers travelling between the cities of Istanbul and Sinop skidded off the road and overturned in the northern Turkish province of Kastamonu.
The accident occurred at around 5:50 a.m. local time (3:50 CET), and the cause is still under investigation, although it appears that the bus may have skidded off due to ice on the road. The governor of Kastamonu province, Meftun Dallı, told media that three of the injured are in a critical condition, and pointed to the harsh weather conditions and snow as the likely cause of the tragedy. Just a few days ago, another bus crash on Turkish roads killed nine people.
