Turkey, villages isolated by snow

Turkey struggles to get aid to villages isolated by snow

Authorities in Turkey are making great efforts to reach dozens of villages that have been cut off by snow, especially in the most isolated rural regions of central and eastern Anatolia, where technicians and emergency teams are struggling to restore power or bring aid to the most isolated areas amid harsh weather conditions and freezing temperatures. In the province of Ağrı, on the border between Turkey and Iran, a specially equipped snow ambulance travelled 4 km and was able to reach a village to evacuate a pregnant woman, in an operation that lasted 5 hours.
