27 years after a scaffolding was built in 1993 to repair and restore the dome of Hagia Sophia hiding it for years, the mosaic depicting one of the 4 seraphim angels that decorate Hagia Sophia in Istanbul is visible again after the scaffolding, which was only partially dismantled between 2010 and 2013, was removed on Sunday.
