Reciprocal ferry services between Turkey and the Greek islands of the Aegean Sea, suspended since March 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, have resumed after 2 years, authorities confirmed on Tuesday, after Athens lifted yesterday restrictions on entries by sea to the country. The decision is expected to revive trade and especially tourism in the region; many Turkish tourists visit the Greek islands, and they are vital for their economy. Before the pandemic, about one million passengers crossed the Aegean by ferry annually.
