The white travertine terraces of Pamukkale, a site declared along with the ruins of the ancient city of Hierapolis a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, look whiter than ever due to the total absence of tourists since the coronavirus forced to close the place on March 19th. One of the main destinations for tourism in Turkey, Pamukkale received 2.6 million tourists in 2019, a historical record, but now it has been a month and a half that no one has visited this place, famous for its thermal and healing waters.
