Some 625,000 tourists visited Pamukkale during 2020, declared a World Heritage Site and one of the most touristic places in Turkey; it’s famous for its white travertine terraces, its hot springs and the ruins of ancient Hierapolis. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the figure has lagged far behind the 3 million tourists expected in 2020 and the 2.6 million who visited this place, nicknamed the “White Paradise” in 2019.
