A month and a half after the devastating earthquakes in the southeast of Turkey that left more than 50,000 dead, the earth continues trembling in Kahramanmaraş, the epicenter of the earthquakes, where this Thursday there was a new earthquake that reached an intensity of 5.3 in the Richter scale. The earthquake, with its epicenter in the town of Göksun – in the northwest of the province – struck at 12:19 noon, Turkish time (10:19 CET), and for now there is no information on victims or significant damage; but this is a reminder that the fault that unleashed the destruction on February 6 is still very active, and – according to experts – it will continue to be so for months or years, regularly unleashing new earthquakes.
