Turkey is currently experiencing its worst drought in the last decade. Climate change, decreased rainfall, urbanisation and reduction inf forest lands have caused a 50% drop in rainfall, threatening water supply for agriculture and cities. To try to alleviate this problem, the Minister of Agriculture and Forests has announced the construction in the next three years of 150 underground reservoirs that will collect groundwater.
