The unemployment rate fell again in Turkey last August, according to the latest data released today by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), showing a 0.2 point drop from July’s unemployment figures to 9.2% of the labour force, being 7.5% among men and 12.6% among women.
Compared with the previous month, the number of people unemployed in Turkey fell by 56,000 in August to 3.22 million people, according to TÜİK, which adds that the youth unemployment rate – for the 15-24 age group – fell by 0.7 points to 17.2%, being 14.2% among men and 22.7% among women.
