A group of members of the Uyghur minority held a protest in front of the Chinese embassy in Ankara on Wednesday demanding to know the status and whereabouts of their families, detained in labor camps in Xinjiang and of whom they have not heard since 2017, accusing Beijing of practicing genocide against the Uyghurs. “We have requested information on 5,199 people from the Chinese embassy, but they do not accept our requests,” denounced a spokesman for the protesters.
