Turkey began on Friday vaccination with the first doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, developed by a couple of Turkish immigrants in Germany, and of which the Turkish authorities have already received 2.8 million doses. People who had the COVID-19 vaccination shift in the hospital city of Ankara on Friday, were asked for the first time if they wanted to receive a dose of Sinovac or Pfizer instead. The start of vaccination with this vaccine coincides with a new record of infections in Turkey, which on Friday reached 42,000 new positives in the last 24 hours. More than 16 million people have already been vaccinated in the country.
