Turkey, mask no longer mandatory outdoors

First day without mandatory mask on the streets of Turkey

After the announcement late on Wednesday by Turkish health authorities that the mask is no longer mandatory outdoors, neither indoors if they are ventilated and social distance is kept, more people were seen yesterday in places such as the busy İstiklal Avenue in Istanbul with no mask; but many Turks continue to use it as a precaution. Opinions, in fact, are divided: some believe that it is no longer necessary to continue using it, but others say that it is still too early, especially when about 200 people continue to die every day in Turkey from COVID-19.
