The village chief (muhtar) of a village in Rize province, on the Turkish Black Sea coast, has come up with the idea of using drones to distribute masks to local people while maintaining a safe distance. In addition, to protect themselves from the coronavirus, the entrances to the town are guarded and everyone who enters is taken the temperature and given a mask and hand sanitiser. “People are surprised by the drone, but thus they see that this pandemic is not yet over,” explains the muhtar.
