The removal of the scaffolding has allowed to finally see how the iconic Maiden’s Tower, a symbol of Istanbul, remains after the restoration it has been undergoing since 2021, and in which several concrete and metal structures added along the twentieth century were removed. The tower, which dates back to Byzantine times and is one of the favorite places for tourists who visit Istanbul to take selfies, will reopen its doors to the public during the first week of May, converted into a museum.
