Christian minority attended masses and ceremonies throughout Turkey on Friday and Saturday to celebrate Christmas. The celebrations, mainly for the Orthodox rite, but also Catholic or Protestant, took place in provinces with a significant presence of Christians, such as Istanbul, Mersin or Hatay, among others. In the Turkish city of Antakya (ancient Antioch), fireworks were launched after mass, and the city council distributed gifts to the attendees.
