Istanbul, ship runs aground

Ship runs aground off the coast of Istanbul due to storm

The “Streamline”, a 108-meter long freighter that had departed from the port of Yeisk, on the Russian Black Sea coast, ran aground on Friday in the Zeytinburnu district, on the European shore of Istanbul, because of the storm of wind and rain that hit the region and caused waves of more than 5 meters, forcing the cancellation of many ferry routes. The ship was rescued by the Turkish Coast Guard without causing any casualties or dumping into the sea.
