The Lady Zehma, a 173-meter-long ship carrying 3,000 tons of corn from Ukraine, collided and ran aground last night off the coast of Bebek, on the European shore of Istanbul, forcing the interruption of maritime traffic through the Bosphorus Strait. The accident, apparently due to rudder failure, caused no injuries and is the first of its kind since Russia and Ukraine signed an agreement with Turkey and the UN to export grain from various Black Sea ports.
