Saudi Arabia and Turkey signed a total of 5 agreements during the visit that Turkish President Tayyip Erdoğan, accompanied by 200 Turkish businessmen, made to the Arab country as part of his 3-day tour by several Gulf countries. The agreements include a cooperation memorandum to promote direct investment, an agreement on the exchange of communications between the two countries, a bilateral defense cooperation plan, an understanding agreement to promote energy cooperation, and finally a defense agreement with the company Baykar which includes Riyadh’s acquisition of Turkish combat drones Bayraktar Akıncı: the amount of this deal is not known, but Baykar has called it “the largest aviation export and defense deal in the entire history of Turkey”.
