A team of 12 experts has begun restoration work on Room No. 71 of the Dolmabahçe Palace in Istanbul, where the founder of the modern Republic of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, died in 1938. To do this, the restorers use digitized images of the original state of the painting, the walls and the decoration of the room. The restoration is expected to be completed shortly before November 10, the anniversary of Atatürk’s death, during which thousands of people visit this emblematic room.
