At least 21 people were injured yesterday in a multiple collision that occurred on the trans-European highway (TEM) in the İzmit province, in the direction of Istanbul, when a truck overturned and caused an accident in which up to 24 vehicles were involved. The accident, which occurred at 4:45 a.m. local time and forced traffic to be cut off for 8 hours, apparently occurred due to rain, as many drivers report that they were unable to stop in time due to the slippery road surface.
