Just a few hours before the entry into force today of the total lockdown decreed by the Turkish government until May 17, the streets fill with people making their last purchases while thousands of cars leave large cities such as Istanbul, moving to their second residences in the coast or the countryside or going to meet their families in other provinces. Health experts fear that this massive exodus of the population from cities to other places contributes to further spread the virus and increase infections.
