The Çağlayan neighbourhood of the Kağıthane district, on the outskirts of Istanbul, experienced dramatic moments when, in the middle of a large fire that affected a residential building in the area, a person climbed onto the roof trying to escape the flames. Being about to be hit by the fire, the man finally jumped into the void amid the anguish of those contemplating the scene … but fortunately he fell on a blanket that several neighbours held underneath, and he was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. The terrible moment could be recorded by several neighbours’ phones.
