Israeli army planes destroyed on Saturday the building that housed the offices of various media outlets in Gaza, including the Al Jazeera network and the Associated Press agency. The 13-story block, one of the Strip’s oldest high-rise buildings, which also housed lawyers’ and doctors’ offices, was evacuated by journalists just minutes before multiple explosions tore it down completely. It is the 4th building with more than 10 floors destroyed by Israel in less than a week, without knowing the reasons for the latest attack. The UN Secretary General expressed his “dismay” at the event and at the deaths of civilians in Gaza, which exceed 140, while the Security Council plans to meet this Sunday urgently.
