Turkish government announced on Tuesday an increase in the minimum wage of 34%, a measure that will come into force on July 1 and that seeks to combat the effects of inflation. With this second increase so far this year, the minimum monthly wage in Turkey increases to 11,402 liras (€442), according to the Turkish Minister of Labor and Social Security, Vedat Işıkhan, who in a televised appearance from Ankara explained that the increase had been agreed between representatives of workers and employers. Işıkhan further added that the government will maintain tax exemptions for companies.
