Thousands of people have already visited the ruins of Göbeklitepe, considered the oldest temple of the humanity, since it reopened its doors in early June after almost three months closed by the coronavirus. Declared in 2018 a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, in the midst of the pandemic the Göbeklitepe virtual museum received almost 2 million visits online. Göbeklitepe’s discovery completely revolutionised the knowledge about the origins of humanity, as until its discovery it was thought that humans 12,000 years ago were incapable of erecting permanent buildings.
