Firefighters continued this morning fighting for the 4th consecutive day against a large fire that broke out in a commercial and industrial building located on the outskirts of Istanbul. The building, located in the İkitelli industrial park in the Başakşehir district, north of the city, housed – among other facilities – a stationery store, a carpet store, a furniture workshop and a food warehouse, and for now the causes that started the fire, which began on the upper floors and later spread to the entire block (six stories high), are unknown. Firefighters have been working tirelessly to put out the flames since the blaze broke out in the early afternoon of Saturday, June 10.
