Chinese tech company Xiaomi opened this week its 1st factory in Turkey, built in partnership with Salcomp in Istanbul’s Avcılar district. With an investment of 30 million dollars and a capacity to produce 5 million mobile phones a year, the factory will generate 2,000 jobs and is the 4th factory that Xiaomi has built outside of China. Xiaomi Director for Turkey, Vincent Chang, announced that the new factory in Turkey will initially produce the Redmi 9C smartphone model.
