At least 2 dead and 64 injured after earthquake in İzmir, Turkey

An earthquake of intensity 4.9 that that occurred this morning in İzmir, the third largest city in Turkey, has so far caused at least 2 deaths and 64 injured, as well as material damage to more than 20 buildings. The earthquake, which had its epicenter in the Buca district, was followed by nearly 100 aftershocks. Two years ago, İzmir experienced a terrible 6.6-magnitude earthquake that caused 115 deaths and the collapse of dozens of buildings.
