The ARIBA X is a purely solar-powered car developed by students at the Istanbul Technical University (ITÜ), which is making a 1,300 km journey from Istanbul to Ankara, where it is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. Constructed primarily of carbon fiber, 80% of the ARIBA X’s components have been developed in Turkey; it weighs only 160 kg, and can reach 140 km/h. With a range of 400 km with full batteries, in full sun it can travel at 70 km/h with0 energy consumption.
