Turkey, soldiers killed in Iraq

3 Turkish soldiers killed in operation against PKK in Iraq

3 Turkish soldiers were killed and 4 others were injured in fighting with members of the PKK terrorist group during Operation “Eagle Claw 2” carried out by the Turkish army in the Gara region of northern Iraq, bordering southeastern Turkey, as confirmed this Thursday by the Ministry of Defence of the Eurasian country. The presence of the PKK in northern Iraq, especially since Daesh was expelled from the region, is a matter of concern not only for Ankara but also for Iraq and for the autonomous government of Iraqi Kurdistan, which considers it a threat to its security and to its relations with Turkey.
