Work has begun on a field hospital next to Atatürk airport

Construction work on a 1,000-bed field hospital next to the facilities of the old Istanbul Atatürk Airport has already started as part of efforts against the coronavirus pandemic. On Monday, the Turkish president announced the construction within just 45 days of two field hospitals in Istanbul to serve COVID-19 patients; work on the other hospital began as early as Tuesday in Sancaktepe, just outside the Asian side of the city.
