Turkish last prime minister, injured in serious accident in Azerbaijan

Former Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım, the last Prime Minister of Turkey before the implementation of the presidential system in the country, suffered a serious traffic accident last night in the car in which he was travelling with his escort, during a trip to Azerbaijan. Yıldırım, who is currently the vice chairman of Erdoğan’s AKP party, was visited in the hospital by Ilham Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan, where Erdoğan was on an official visit. Yıldırım was later transferred this morning to Istanbul in an ambulance plane.
