Turkish Airlines has announced the launch of a new promotional campaign offering return flights to southern European destinations from as little as $129 – €112 – with discounts applicable to a limited number of seats. At the same time, the airline announced the suspension of its routes to Venezuela, joining the decision taken by other airlines following a security warning issued by the United States.
According to a Turkish Airlines statement reported by several Turkish media, the airline will give advantageous fares for those travelling from Turkey to several destinations in southern Europe. Passengers will be able to take advantage of this offer – valid for flights between 12 January and 18 March 2026 – for tickets purchased until 30 November. Departure fares are as follows:
- $129 / €112 to Athens and Thessaloniki (Greece)
- $189 / €164 to Turin, Bari, Naples and Catania (Italy)
- $199 / €172 to Rome, Milan, Venice, Bologna (Italy), Malta, Lyon, Marseille, Nice, Toulouse and Bordeaux (France)
- $209 / €181 to Barcelona, Madrid and other cities in Spain.
- $219 / €190 to Paris, Lisbon and Porto (Portugal).
The fares included in the campaign correspond to those published on the official Turkish Airlines website, where detailed information on periods excluded from the promotion can also be found. Travellers wishing to purchase these fares can obtain more information on the website or at the company’s own sales offices.
Flights to Venezuela suspended
On the other hand, several international airlines – including Turkish Airlines itself – have announced the cancellation of flights to Venezuela after the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued a warning to commercial pilots to exercise extreme caution when flying over Venezuelan airspace, due to the deterioration of security and increased military activity in the region.
Marisela de Loaiza, president of the Venezuelan Airlines Association, told agencies that so far up to six airlines – TAP, LATAM, Avianca, Iberia, Gol and Caribbean– have suspended operations indefinitely.
Turkish Airlines has also halted its flights between Istanbul and Caracas, initially from 24 to 28 November. According to the notification sent by the Turkish airline to travel agencies, affected passengers will be redirected to alternative routes, with possible diversions via Bogota, Panama, Cancun, Mexico or Havana (Cuba), according to Turkish media reports.
