The heavy snowfalls in eastern Turkey have made the magnificent sculptures of Mount Nemrut, built by King Antiochus I of Comagene 2,000 years ago and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, practically covered by up to 5 meters of snow. Visited every year by thousands of tourists, this ancient burial mound with statues of Armenian, Greek and Persian gods is at an altitude of 2,200 meters and is practically inaccessible in winter, as can be seen in this spectacular video recorded with a drone by two Turkish mountaineers.
