Part of Fenerbahçe fans had an ugly gesture last night with Dynamo Kyiv when they began to cheer “Vladimir Putin” in response to the first goal scored by the Ukrainian team, which ended up winning 1-2 in Istanbul leaving Fener out of the Champions League. Dinamo’s coach refused to attend the press conference after the game as a gesture of protest, while the Ukrainian ambassador in Ankara said today he felt very sad for “the words of support from the Fenerbahçe fans to the Russian murderer and aggressor who bombs our country”, while thanking the Turkish people for their support to Ukraine and for disapproving of the Fener fans’ gesture.
