Despite the beautiful picture left by the intense snowfall that has fallen since the weekend in the city, the snow is creating serious traffic problems in Istanbul, where traffic on the E-5 highway had to be closed in both directions in the Beylikdüzü district. Heavy snowfalls and accumulated ice caused serious complications in many parts of the city, where cars and buses were stranded, forcing many citizens to move on foot despite the fact that temperatures barely exceeded zero degrees, with an even lower thermal sensation due to the 70 km/h winds, causing trees to fall and power outages. The snowfall is expected to continue through Thursday, although in some areas of Istanbul it could continue into the weekend.
