A group of 37 Afghan refugees, including 18 children, who were rescued by Turkish coastguards in the Aegean when they were drifting on two rafts, claim that after being intercepted on the island of Lesbos the Greek authorities mistreated them, stole all of them their valuables, and after assuring them that they would be taken to a refugee camp, they were put on a boat and abandoned at sea to their fate. This is not the first time that these events have occurred, which Turkey has been denouncing for years: on September alone, Turkish coastguards have rescued more than 300 migrants illegally returned by Greece.
