Lake Kellah, located in the Ulaş district of Sivas province in east-central Turkey, has lost all its water and completely dried up after years of drought due to climate change and over exploitation for agricultural use. The saline lake, which once had a depth of 7 meters, is one of more than 35 lakes that have dried up and disappeared in Turkey in the last 50 years, according to environmental experts.
