Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, opposition candidate

Kılıçdaroğlu to ask HDP Kurdish nationalists for their vote in the elections

The leader of the main opposition party in Turkey (the CHP) and recently appointed common candidate of the opposition coalition against Erdoğan, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, will finally visit the headquarters of the Kurdish nationalist party HDP, after this party offered him their support at the presidential and parliamentary elections on May 14 if they agreed to an agreement in person. “Visiting all the parties is a democratic prerequisite if I intend to be the president of 85 million people. What’s wrong with visiting the HDP? We already work with them in parliament in different commissions. It is natural for me to visit them,” Kılıçdaroğlu told media today. The president of the İYİ Parti, the 2nd most important of the opposition coalition, has already warned, however, that she will not tolerate an alliance with the HDP, which faces a possible closure due to its links with the PKK.
