Istanbul suffered on Tuesday one of the worst rain and wind storms in memory, which flooded many districts of the city, especially Esenyurt, and even caused a tornado in Büyükçekmece, not far from the old Atatürk airport. The storm left one dead and several wounded, and blow up roofs, knocked down trees, and flooded buildings and streets, burying lows and cars underwater. Meteorologists warn that the super cell that is causing these storms and floods in northwestern Turkey will continue to be active in the coming days.
