Famous Turkish singer Ibrahim Tatlıses gave a concert in a wheelchair on Thursday night after escaping death just hours earlier, when the vehicle he was travelling in crashed, caught fire and nearly fell off a cliff. “Allah sent his angels to me. It’s not over until He says so,” an emotional Tatlıses told his audience, his feet in plaster from fractures sustained in the accident. This is not the first time that Tatlıses, of Kurdish origin and one of the most iconic voices in Turkey, has escaped death: in 2011 he miraculously survived after his car was shot, even after being shot in the head.
