Daesh leader Abu al-Hussein al-Husseini al-Qurashi, whose death on April 29 was announced a few days ago by Turkish President Tayyip Erdoğan, committed suicide when he was about to be captured by Turkish forces during an operation by Turkish intelligence (MİT). Turkish security sources have confirmed that Al-Qurashi lived in a house on the outskirts of the town of Jindires, northwestern Syria, from where he ran the terrorist organization using couriers to avoid being identified; the house had long been under surveillance by land and air by the MİT.
It was when it was known that Al-Qurashi was going to change location, when the Turkish secret services launched an operation to capture him, which lasted about 4 hours in total; however, when Turkish special forces surrounded the property and asked him to surrender, the Daesh leader committed suicide to avoid capture, setting off an explosive vest.
