As part of the measures imposed in Turkey during Ramadan to curb coronavirus infections, a 3-day curfew begins at 7:00 p.m. today.
Turkish government announced on Wednesday a 3-day curfew as a measure to curb coronavirus infections, prolonging the ban on going out in force across the country during the weekend to also include the national holiday of the National Sovereignty and Children’s Day, which is celebrated tomorrow, Friday, April 23.
According to a circular issued by the Ministry of the Interior to the governors of the 81 provinces of Turkey, the 3-day curfew will begin at 7:00 p.m. today, Thursday, throughout the country, and will be in effect until 5:00 am next Monday. During this period, people can only go out to the street to buy food or if they have an authorisation; food stores will remaining open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The Turkish government announced last week new restrictions during Ramadan due to the alarming increase in coronavirus infections, including a daily curfew between 7:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. from Monday to Friday, a ban to travel between cities, and the closure of restaurants and cafes except to serve take away food.
