Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca announced on Thursday that in a matter of days Turkey will begin vaccinating the population with doses of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine, which at the end of 2020 the Turkish government had rejected on the grounds that it had not followed “good practices”. Currently almost 25% of the population in Turkey have received at least one dose of the Sinovac or Pfizer vaccine, and almost 10% have received both doses against COVID-19.
