Istanbul, taxi driver attack on a tourist

Brutal aggression of a taxi driver to a tourist in Istanbul

Witnesses recorded the brutal aggression of a taxi driver in Istanbul on a French tourist of Moroccan origin, who was forcibly removed from the taxi and then hit against the door and violently throw against the asphalt; later the driver fled, despite the woman trying to stop him. The taxi driver, who has turned out not to have a license to work, has been arrested after the tourist filed a complaint against him; the woman claims that the taxi driver became violent after the woman insisted that she wanted to get off, because the driver demanded an extra payment for taking a route while he “was driving in circles” and trying to take her on a longer route. The taxi driver, released on charges of bodily harm, claims the woman refused to pay him and assaulted him, and that he was only acting in self-defense.
