6.6 earthquake shakes Eastern Mediterranean and Turkey

A 6.6 earthquake struck the west of the island of Cyprus earlier today, affecting the entire Eastern Mediterranean, including Turkey, Israel and Lebanon. In Turkey, the earthquake could be felt in Antalya, Mersin, Hatay, Adana, Isparta, Burdur and Konya, causing furniture and lamps to move and fear among the population. No casualties or major damage have been reported in either Cyprus or Turkey.
