Rice pudding is a typical dessert in the gastronomy of many countries. In Turkey, of course, it is also a traditional dessert called sütlaç, although it is thicker and creamier. This time, however, we are going to give it a touch of originality by adding the flavour of chocolate.
Ingredients (serves 8)
- 1 litre of whole milk
- 150 g sugar
- 100 g rice
- 150 g 70% dark chocolate
- 1 cinnamon stick
Preparation
Wash the rice and boil it in two glasses of water until the rice is very tender and has absorbed all the water.
Put the milk and cinnamon in a saucepan and heat it. When it boils, add the rice and cook over a low heat for 30 to 40 minutes, stirring from time to time so that it does not stick.
Before it has finished cooking, add the sugar and mix well. Finally, turn off the heat and leave to stand for a while to cool a little.
When the rice pudding has cooled down a little, add the chopped chocolate and stir thoroughly to mix the chocolate with the rice.
Finally, pour the rice pudding into a serving dish and leave to cool. You can decorate it with grated chocolate and a little cinnamon powder.
Enjoy your meal!
