Turkish Airlines will offer unlimited free WiFi on all its flights and to all its passengers, thanks to a memorandum of understanding signed in the UK with Turkish state-owned satellite telecommunications company Türksat and the subsidiary company TCI Aircraft Interiors.
As reported by the Anatolia news agency, the project is scheduled to begin in late 2024 and will last for two years, during which high-speed in-flight connectivity (IFC) technology will be progressively installed across the entire Turkish Airlines fleet, which currently has 458 aircraft flying to 342 destinations worldwide.
‘In collaboration with TCI Aircraft Interior and Türksat, we will have free and unlimited WiFi across our entire fleet by the end of 2025. We are integrating the latest in-flight connectivity technology so you will always be online,’ the Turkish airline said in a statement posted on social media. Turkish Airlines, named Europe’s Best Airline for the 9th consecutive year in June, carried 40.6 million passengers in the first half of 2024 (up 4.8% year-on-year), 25.7 million of them on international flights.
